Introduction
Micro Bank is an innovative banking app crafted explicitly for young adults who seek a more efficient and personalised banking experience. Unlike traditional banking platforms that often cater to a broad audience, Micro Bank zeroes in on younger users' unique needs and preferences, offering them a faster, more intuitive way to manage their finances without relying on large, conventional banks.
The Challenge
During the initial research phase, interviews and surveys were conducted with individuals who fit the target demographic of young adults. This research uncovered several key issues with existing banking apps:
Prolonged Log-In Processes: A major pain point identified was the time required to log into existing banking apps. This process, which can be cumbersome and frustrating, especially when users are in a hurry, significantly impacts the user experience.
Lack of Immediate Balance Visibility: Another significant issue was difficulty accessing card balance information. Users expressed dissatisfaction that they couldn't see their balance directly on the app's home screen. Instead, they had to navigate through several steps, which was time-consuming and inconvenient.
The Solution
Armed with insights from the research, the design team focused on creating a solution that addressed these user frustrations while ensuring that the app would stand out in a crowded market.
Streamlined Log-In Experience: Micro Bank integrates a simplified and faster log-in process, reducing the time it takes for users to access their accounts. This could include biometric authentication, like fingerprint or facial recognition, which speeds up access and enhances security.
Instant Balance Display: The app's home screen was designed to prominently display the user's card balance, making this vital information immediately accessible upon logging in. Additionally, a single tap button was implemented to allow users to quickly check their balance from any screen within the app.
